Toby was turned into the animal shelter with a bowlful of birdseed in his tiny cage.  He became friends with one of the babies born here, and they have both been adopted out together.

Adopted

Leo was abandoned on the street and picked up by  animal control officers.  He’s an older boar and has found a home with a perfect family.  We’ve just found him a baby boy to keep him company!

Update:  Leo died in July 2006, and we were able to find a wonderful male to go with his mate.

Angelina was listed on the shelter website as a boar.  She turned out to be a very pregnant female housed with her young daughter.  She had five healthy baby boys and has since found a  home with a neutered boar.

All five baby boys found good homes, and each one was placed with an older boar.

Polly was rescued from a high-kill shelter along with her pregnant mother. Like her mother, she was adopted out to live with a neutered boar.

A Guinea Pig Rescue

Merlin and Taffy were rescued from different shelters.  Merlin’s previous owners left him matted and filthy, and Taffy was dumped at the shelter the day after he was born, unweaned.  They have found their perfect, forever home, where they will be loved and cared for together.

UPDATE:  these animals were returned in dreadful condition. Taffy had to be euthanized due to stones, and Merlin has a terminal condition.  He will spend his remaining days in the rescue.

Daisy and Rose were part of a group of 10 mixed sex animals that were left outside one of the shelters.  They were adopted together by a wonderful family who will give them all the love and care they deserve.

Baby Pumpkin was born to Lucy after she arrived here.  He was adopted out as a companion to a 2-year old boar, and they are already the best of friends!

Tinkerbell and Lucy came in from different shelters.  Tinkerbell had a bad case of scurvy and mites, and Lucy was pregnant with Pumpkin.  They bonded while they were here, and have now gone to a wonderful home with two other sows.

Mary-Lou and Lilibet were paired together at the rescue.  Our senior girl with a very enlarged heart and our baby, who was dumped at the shelter a few days old, became the best of friends.  After a year in the rescue a wonderful family adopted them.  We were sad to see them go but so happy that they found their perfect, forever home and that they would stay together.

Eloise and Muffin are two special needs girls who were lucky enough to find their forever home with a very special adopter who was eager and willing to care for them.

Millie is a 20-month old sow came here after giving birth to 3 babies who died.  Her owner was no longer to care for her.  She had pneumonia, and she was also been diagnosed with an enlarged heart, for which she is on medication.  She was spayed to remove a large ovarian cyst and is presently making a great recovery.  Her foster mum fell in love with her and has now adopted her—Millie is a very  lucky girl!
